Advancing glass processing with intelligence and efficiency

At VITRUM 2025, Glaston presents a comprehensive range of smart technologies and integrated solutions that redefine glass processing across tempering, laminating, insulating and mobility glass sectors. The focus is on automation, energy efficiency and superior product quality.

Come meet with our industry experts at Booth #D13 E12 in Hall 9. We can tell you more!

Glass tempering

The new Glaston FC Series E tempering line combines flexibility and energy efficiency with the Glaston Bora convection system for precise heating. It supports all glass types and features advanced automation for consistent, high-quality output. The Roller Heat Control (RHC) ensures uniform roller temperatures, reducing defects and energy use.

Other latest advancements in Glaston tempering technology include:
•    Autopilot: The only fully automated solution for mixed production, adjusting heating and cooling based on glass type, size, and load to boost efficiency and eliminate operator dependency.
•    Online Stress Calculation: Real-time, data-driven monitoring of hardening results for consistent quality and enhanced safety.
•    Glass Temperature Imaging: Ensures accurate Low-E glass temperature control for energy-efficient production without compromising quality.
•    Anisotropy Control: Lowers anisotropy levels by up to 50% using advanced airflow and heating control.
•    Adaptive Quench: Automatically adjusts cooling zones to match glass load length, reducing energy use and carbon footprint while maintaining productivity.

All the above features are also available as upgrades!

Glass lamination

Glaston ProL lamination technology provides exceptional flexibility for mixed production. Its advanced convection heating chamber makes switching between different glass types and sandwiches easier. The new ProL SPEED edition boosts production efficiency by up to 40%. The line features the most up-to-date automation, reducing the need for manual labor. The newly introduced Automatic trimming for rectangular glasses enables one-man operation in the cleanroom with automatic foil placement supporting accuracy and efficiency. With fully automatic glass handling, foil placement and sandwich trimming, ProL SPEED ensures highly efficient and reliable laminated glass processing.

The patented ProL Convection Control technology increases production capability with structural and high-strength laminates. Additionally, this patented feature elevates productivity with complex laminates. For example, a significant increase in output and yield can be achieved when working with multilayer SentryGlas® laminates.

The ProL-zone upgrade provides an easy way to replace a traditional infrared heater furnace with full convection technology. After installation, this heating technology upgrade delivers energy savings of at least 50%.

INSULATING GLASS MANUFACTURING

Glaston ULTRA TPS® introduces a patented method for producing thin triple IGUs with TPS®. The line’s unique production technology allows center glass to be as thin as 0.5 mm. With offset positioning and embedding in the secondary sealing, this glass is completely protected. Plus, each processing station comes with precision handling.

The final product maintains the overall thickness of a standard double IGU but delivers the thermal performance of a triple unit. These units are ideal for both new construction and retrofits, replacing existing double IGUs to improve energy efficiency. In addition to boosting energy efficiency, thinner glass also enhances light transmission and reduces raw material use.

The line also efficiently produces quadruple IGUs with thin glass.

Glaston MUNTIN’MASTER automates the setting of muntins in TPS® insulating glass units. Using innovative embedding technology, this advanced solution replaces manual operations, boosting precision and efficiency. This new machine also eliminates the need for muntin end pieces, making it highly economical.

Mobility glass processing

Glaston CHAMP EVO represents the latest generation of CHAMP pre-processing lines for mobility glass. The grinding machine delivers higher precision, energy-efficient linear drives and a freely movable glass holding system for shorter changeover times. The line also features lighter and better-optimized moving parts, such as the cutting bridge and grinding table.

Glaston MATRIX EVO, a new automatic bending furnace, revolutionizes the bending of automotive windshields and sunroofs. It delivers the best optical quality for applications such as ADAS, HUD and coated glasses with complex shapes. Highly modular, MATRIX EVO is available in various chamber sizes and capacity configurations. Its active convection system heats faster and transfers heat more efficiently, for overall higher energy efficiency. The line is especially effective for processing borosilicate glass – a more durable and lightweight alternative to traditional soda-lime glass.

Automation

Glaston’s automation solutions integrate mechanical systems with process intelligence, ensuring every step in the workflow is optimized.

Glaston Batch Optimization uses robotics to create the most efficient batch patterns, maximizing furnace bed use and production capacity.

UPGRADES

To support long-term performance, Glaston also offers a comprehensive portfolio of upgrades and lifecycle services. These help you maintain equipment efficiency, extend machinery lifetime and ensure your production stays up to date and meets or even exceeds industry standards.

The Glaston Vortex Pro convection system upgrade is a cost-efficient way to upgrade and extend the capability of your existing machinery.

“Glaston Vortex Pro convection added to Glaston’s FC tempering furnace is making all the difference. With mixed loads and different sizes, this combo is a no-brainer. We would not be able to realize all the benefits without Vortex Pro’s extra functionality. I’m now wishing we had it on all our lines,”
– Cory Brown, Director of Operations at United Plate Glass.
