Lean manufacturing philosophy describes the seven wastes – also known as “muda” – that can be identified in different manufacturing processes. These seven wastes are:
1. Defects
2. Inventory
3. Transportation
4. Motion
5. Waiting
6. Overprocessing
7. Overproduction
This list can be identified from and applied to any type of manufacturing process. The purpose of this eBook is to give you insights on how the different waste types can be recognized in and around the flat glass tempering process, how to control them and, most importantly, how to start minimizing them.
