This presentation given in GPD 2017 conference includes further information on the phenomenon called iridescence/anisotropy/strain pattern that occurs in tempered glass as a result of heat treatment. Although there are still no standards for acceptable anisotropy levels in glass, a major breakthrough in regard to the phenomenon took place recently.
